10.12.20: Statement

I've narrowed down to go forward on this path of nostalgia, specifically towards our youthful years. In my my most recent iteration I included images of nature, plants, crayons, and this golden crystalized flower at the center. I want my golden crystalized flower to represent the youth in ourselves that sometimes never fades away, it's within in us even towards our adulthood. It's a contrast to the actual plants and nature that go through a cycle of life and death. Sometimes everything doesn't have to have an end. I also included crayons so my viewer could allude to the idea of youth or childhood, but other than that, there's not too much of a strong connection. I'm at the struggling stage again because I am having a hard time figuring out how I can produce an even bigger image with the ones I've taken. A step forward for me would be to take even more pictures, and continue to play and deconstruct my images even further to get something different. ONE WOR

10.29.20: First Phase Continued...

As for my form of my narrative I would like to take my photoshoped images and bring them into indesign to create spreads for an accordion style book. I have experience already working in indesign and I've made an accordion style book before as well. The reasoning behind this chosen form is because I envision dreams as an unfolding of a story, and one doesn't know what's going to come next. I'm thinking it will be 16 pages long, and I'm considering printing the final in the print lab at Wey Hall. Inspiration for dream like quality photos:

8.25.20: Update

I'm starting to get more comfortable with working in various layers and building upon the different sections of the body of the vacuum. At first I didn't have a clear direction I wanted to go forward in regarding what I'll be merging the vacuum cleaner with, but now that I have gotten a chance to talk some ideas out, I have a more concrete idea. I will be morphing the vacuum with Wall-E (main character of an animated Disney film). In the film Wall-E's purpose is to clean up the very polluted world's trash, and following with this idea of cleaning up, I'm going towards an image that speaks about the world's growing pollution rate. The robot vacuum will also correlate to our dependency on technology, which creates a detached relationship with us and nature.
