Illustrator is becoming difficult as I proceed in the ways that it's difficult for me to figure out certain gradients I want to achieve. If I am being honest, the more I add to my image the more I am disliking how it is turning out. Regardless of these thoughts I'm moving forward so I consider that as progress. The next step for me is to figure out how I am going to create a connection between my appliance and the background. My idea is to make it look like the vacuum is sucking up the corner of the background, or page. The destruction of the page is going to represent the preciousness of our world and how easy it is to destroy it.
I recently watched a video for my Astronomy class about Carl Sagan's Blue Dot video which showed a very distant image of what earth looked like in space. Earth was nothing but a tiny small blue dot, and he made comments about how small our reality really is and how we should cherish what we have because it is something quite beautiful. These themes are also present in the Pixar film "Wall-E." Wall-E gets the humans, who abandoned the very polluted and destroyed earth to live in space, to reconsider revisiting earth and bringing back new life.
